COVID-19: Situation update

Erasmus Days

Information meeting about Erasmus students' mobility is going to be held on 11th October 2019 at 17:00 in Third Auditorium, MU-Varna. The meeting will be carried out in the framework of the initiative Erasmus Days.

The European Commission organizes the initiative Erasmus Days on 10th, 11th and 12th October 2019 aiming to highlight the huge positive impact of the Erasmus+ Programme. The event will take place simultaneously in all countries around the world that are eligible to participate in the Programme.

The aim of the event is to present the European values, the benefits of the study mobility, the positive impact of the project results and the importance of the Erasmus+ Programme, so as to be visible and accessible to citizens, business, media and the policy makers in the field of higher education.

MU-Varna Takes Part in a Project for Online Training in English and German in the Field of Healthcare

Medical University-Varna takes part in a project for online training in English and German in the field of healthcare - HELP2 - HEalthcare Language Learning Programme. It is a follow-up project based on HELP – Healthcare English Language Programme (2014-2017), implemented under the Erasmus+ Programme. The project was launched in November 2018 and will be underway for two and a half years.

The international team is composed of foreign language teachers, pedagogues, experts for intercultural training, medical doctors and software engineers from six countries from East and Central Europe (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia) and two West European countries (Germany and Portugal). Medical University-Varna participates in the project with representatives of the teams of the Department of Foreign Language Learning, Communication and Sports, the International Cooperation Department and the International Centre for Electronic and Distance Learning.

HELP2 develops further and enriches the online programme implemented by the first project, expanding it with 14 new modules in English and 10 modules in German. They will be available online via an open MOODLE platform and a mobile application for Android users. The new modules will provide users with online and offline materials (downloadable PDF files, a Print-ready textbook (e-book), freely available under Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 (open licenses). The platform will continue to be freely accessible after the project lifetime.

HELP2 creates learning resources and modules for self-study of specialized English and German for medical purposes, focusing on health care professionals. The modules combine in an innovative way linguistic and intercultural preparation to meet the challenges of the European labour market.

December 20th is the deadline for submitting the application documents for Erasmus+ mobility 2019/2020.

The students apply for mobility planned to be carried out during the next academic year.

The medical students from MU-Varna have the following possibilities to carry out practical training abroad:

-           Summer internship after the 3rd or/and 4th year of academic studies (2 months)

-           Pre-graduate state internship during the 6th year of academic studies (2 to 9 months - one or more state internships)

Medical University – Varna offers the following available places for Erasmus+ internships during 2019/2020 academic year.

The applicants should have an average grade (GPA) as of the time of application minimum 4.50.

The applicants must have taken all their exams till the time of application.

  3. Certificate for average grade (GPA) as of the time of application minimum 4.50 (issued by the students' office)
  4. Letter of recommendation signed by a professor in MU-Varna
  1. Certificate for language proficiency (for mobility language other than English)

Application documents have to be submitted in the International Relations Department (room 209) from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. – Mrs. Svetlana Panayotova.

Erasmus Days

 

On 12 and 13 October 2018, the European Commission organizes the initiative Erasmus Days aiming to highlight the huge positive impact of the Erasmus+ Programme. The event will take place simultaneously in all countries around the world that are eligible to participate in the Programme.

The aim of the event is to present the European values, the benefits of the study mobility, the positive impact of the project results and the importance of the Erasmus+ Programme, so as to be visible and accessible to citizens, business, media and the policy makers in the field of higher education.

Medical University - Varna will take part in the initiative by organizing an information event - Erasmus Open Day. On 12 October 2018 (Friday), an information corner will be placed in the foyer on the 1st floor of the Rectorate building, where information materials about the Erasmus+ programme will be provided. The university television MU-Vi TV will present films about the participation in Erasmus mobility.

MU-Varna International Partnerships forum

The second edition of MU - Varna International Partnerships Forum is going to be held on 16th and 17th October 2017. The main topic of the this year's meeting "International Partnerships for Youth - Students' Life and Erasmus+" has been inspired by the fact that Varna is the European Youth Capital for 2017 and the 30th anniversary of "Erasmus" programme.

December 21st is the deadline for submitting the application documents for Erasmus+ mobility 2017/2018.

The students apply for mobility planned to be carried out during the next academic year.
