The first of its kind "Aesculap Academy on Health Care" was officially opened at the Medical College of MU-Varna on 10th May.
The Academy, organized at the Department of Health Care at the Faculty of Public Health, is a platform for interdisciplinary communication and dialogue in various fields of medicine. It responds to the growing need for continuing training of medical professionals, and also it is a place for knowledge exchange, research and practice. The Aesculap Academy will raise the awareness of medical professionals and provide high-level knowledge with the best contemporary tools in order to meet the uncompromising quality of the training at MU-Varna.

"The desire, expressed by B. Braun Medical in 2016, for joint activities with MU-Varna aimed at enhancing the professionalism in health care, is already a fact," with these words the head of the Department of Health Care Assoc. Prof. Silvia Borisova opened the event.
In his congratulatory address the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov addressed the attendees with the words, "I wish all colleagues and participants health and success in the new venture. Let this Academy become a forum for new ideas for research and quality education!"

The ribbon of the Academy was cut by the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health Assoc. Prof. Emanuela Mutafova and the Managing Director of B. Braun Medical Dr. Horst Stüer.
"The University is investing in a long-term, and I hope very effective partnership for continuing training of health professionals, medics, which is absolutely necessary in the dynamic time in which medical science and medical practice are developing," said Assoc. Prof. Mutafova.
"MU-Varna is a University that is interested in innovation and is open to new initiatives. The motto of the Academy is "Share Knowledge", which means that only the world's most prominent specialists will be working here, who will take care of student education", said Dr. Stüer in front of the University TV.

Prof. Antoaneta Tsvetkova, Chair of the Healthcare Commission at Varna City Council, Mrs. Darina Yordanova-Manager of Hospital and Outpatient Care, Mrs. Daniela Gidikova, Financial Manager of B. Braun Medical, Mr. Letin Getov-Manager of Aesculap Department, Mrs. Raina Boyadzhieva-President of the RC of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals in Varna, and Health Care managers of University Hospital "St. Marina", MHAT – Varna at ММА, MHAT "St. Anna" and the Specialized Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology "Prof. Dr. Dimitar Stamatov"-Varna.
