Representatives of six countries took part at the International Partnership Forum of Medical University - Varna, which was held on 25th and 26th October 2018. The event has been organized for the third consecutive year, and is aimed at becoming a platform, which will enable the partners of the higher education institution to share ideas and generate successful educational, scientific and social projects.
The main topic of this year's Forum was the "Contribution of International Partnerships to University Internationalization" and was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the "Health Management" programme of study and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The main focus of the Forum was laid on the internationalization of universities, which is a powerful tool for development of higher education worldwide. Medical University - Varna integrates the global perspectives and intercultural dimensions of the training process and research. The presentations and discussions placed emphasis on various models of internationalization, operating in the different partnerships of MU – Varna.
Welcome
address on behalf of the Rector of MU-Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov was presented by Prof. Dr.
Albena Kerekovska - Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. The moderators of the
meeting Prof. Todorka Kostadinova - Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Dr. Aneta
Dokova - Head of the Department of International Cooperation made a thorough presentation of
the international activities of MU-Varna, types of international partnerships
and outcomes of already completed bilateral and multilateral projects.
The Forum continued with
presentation of the foreign partners, who shared their expertise in the field
of specific problematic issues of university internationalization.
The meeting was attended by
representatives of various partner institutions of MU-Varna. Among the guests
were the Honorary Consul of Israel Prof. Dr. Krasimir Metodiev, the Director of
Healthcare Directorate at the Municipality of Varna Mrs. Anastasiya Georgieva, the
Attaché for French Language
Cooperation at the French Institute in Bulgaria Mr. Eric Perrotel, as well as guests
from the University of Oxford, the Polytechnic Institute in Setubal, the
South-Ural State University in Chelyabinsk, the National Medical University in
Kharkov, the Pharmaceutical University in Kharkov. Members of the academic management,
lecturers and students at Medical University - Varna actively participated in
the programme of the Forum.
Throughout the discussions, the
opportunities for initiating and implementing joint activities and projects
were discussed - exchange of study programmes, conducting intensive training
courses, participating in scientific projects, etc.
