MU-Varna Joins the National Health Campaign for Blood Pressure Measurement

MU-Varna is going to take part in a national health campaign for free blood pressure measurement with medical devices that have AFIB Technology, designed to detect and monitor the incidence of atrial fibrillation in patients. The check-ups are scheduled for 17th May (Thursday) from 11 am to 6 pm, in the courtyard of the University. The campaign is to be held in eleven cities in Bulgaria simultaneously and will mark the World Hypertension Day (WHD). A check-up point for free blood pressure measurement will be located also at the entrance of the Sea Garden, close to Festival and Congress Centre - Varna. Medical students at MU – Varna will join the campaign, measuring the blood pressure of the citizens, and after that they are going to provide free information related to hypertension, atrial fibrillation, stroke, thrombosis and the rules for measuring blood pressure.

Experts warn that early detection and treatment of atrial fibrillation can reduce the risk of thrombus and stroke.
