The Minister of Health Opened the Renovated Clinic of Vascular Surgery at University Hospital “St. Marina”

The entirely renovated and refurnished Clinic of Vascular Surgery at University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna was officially opened today. His Eminence Metropolitan of Varna and Veliko Tarnovo performed a sermon for health, and the ribbon was cut by the Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Nikolay Petrov and the CEO of University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov.

 "With the renovation and refurnishing of the Clinic of Vascular Surgery at University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna we are not talking about vascular surgery any longer, but about integrated treatment of vascular diseases in the sea capital", stated the Minister of Health Prof. Nikolay Petrov at the opening ceremony.

"In my capacity as a Minister, I am already accustomed to visiting you for very good reasons. I remember the opening ceremony for the first cyclotron here three or four years ago. To my very pleasant surprise, today Prof. Krasimir Ivanov and Prof. Valentin Ignatov have shown to me the building, which was then at the very beginning of its construction, and now it houses modern oncology. I congratulate you on the good work, and I am absolutely positive that everything you do is for the benefit of not only the citizens of the District of Varna but also of the citizens of the entire Northeastern Bulgaria", added Minister Petrov.

The Rector of Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" – Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov, the head of the Clinic of Vascular Surgery Prof. Dr. Veselin Petrov, the District Governor of Varna Mr. Stoyan Pasev, the Deputy Mayor Mr. Kosta Bazitov, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, hospital directors, heads of clinics, media and citizens also attended the opening.

Prior to the establishment of the Clinic in 2012, firstly a sector in this field was founded in 2003, and a department - four years later. Then investments in the human potential and equipment followed. The priorities are related to operative treatment of the most serious pathological vascular diseases. Currently there is one Professor, one Associate Professor and six specialists working at the Clinic. At present all new and advanced technologies in vascular surgery have been introduced.
