Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov, Rector of Medical University - Varna, was awarded with the title of Honorary Citizen of Sliven by the Mayor of the city Stefan Radev. This high award was given to Prof. Ivanov for his outstanding contribution and merits for the development of Sliven Municipality.
The award ceremony was held during the solemn graduation ceremony of the first 37 graduates from the majors of Nursing Care and Midwifery at the Affiliate of MU - Varna in Sliven.
"I feel obligated here in front of you on behalf of the Municipality to emphasize on the indisputable merit of Prof. Krasimir Ivanov for the increase of the academic structures in Sliven, for the establishment of an internationally recognized University in our city. The opening of its Affiliate has led to the enhancement of the opportunities for higher education in our city," said the Mayor Stefan Radev in his congratulatory address during the award ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by the Member of Parliament Desislava Taneva, the Chairperson of the Municipal Council Dimitar Mitev, the Vice Mayors of Sliven Municipality for Humanitarian Activities and Economic Development Pepa Chilikova and Stoyan Markov, the Deputy Governor of Sliven Kamen Kostov, members of the academic management of Medical University - Varna, the RHI Director Dr. Petya Balulova, students and lecturers from Varna and Sliven, parents and friends.
