Teddy Bear Hospital campaign is conducted for the seventh consecutive year. Organizers of the event are the Association of Medical Students in Bulgaria (AMSB) - Varna, the Association of Students of Dental Medicine (ASDM), the Association of Students of Pharmacy in Varna (ASPV), the Student Council and Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov " - Varna, as well as organizations of patients with rare diseases.
The aim of the campaign is through playing games to make young children more familiar with hygiene, healthy eating and what is going on in a hospital. They have the opportunity to talk with young doctors and to become less fearful of manipulations and white coats. Kids' soft toys will be in the role of "patients", while the students will be their doctors.
Every year the campaign is held at two places. The first one is the Department of Pediatrics at University Hospital "St. Marina". The event is to be held on 24 February (Friday) from 13:00 to 14:00 in room 501. The second point is Grand Mall, and the date is 26 February (Sunday) from 10:00 to 14:00.
"Teddy Bear Hospital" is an international project, enjoyed by children worldwide. While they are talking about the "diseases" of their soft toys, kids acquire new knowledge and skills and above all self-confidence that they can cope well with a hospital situation. Interesting and entertaining games are awaiting them in the waiting room, and the prescriptions in the hospital pharmacy will be for sweets only.
