Varna hosts the International Conference in Otology and Rhinology

The International Conference "Functional Surgery in Otology and Rhinology" will take place on October 18-19, 2013 in "St. St. Constantin and Helena" resort near Varna.  The conference continues the tradition of the international fora in otology and neuro-otology which have been held in Stara Zagora for the past 13 years. The scientific event is dedicated to the spiritual patron of Bulgaria St. Ivan Rilski the Miraculous and October 19th - the Day of the Bulgarian Physicians.

The renowned surgeon in the field of ear diseases and neuro-otology Prof. Dr. Jacques Magnan from Marseille and the undisputable Bulgarian authority and specialist in this field Prof. Pavel Dimov are among the scientists who contribute most to the successful implementation of the scientific fora throughout the years. The French specialist contributes to introduction of new forms and basic European requirements for the medical education in Bulgaria. Prof. Dr. Jacques Magnan is the founder of the European Academy of otology and neuro-otology and has been president of the World organization of ornithologists for many years.

Lecturers from Turkey, Macedonia and Serbia as well as over seventy specialists from Bulgaria are going to participate in the international forum. The distinguished specialist in rhinology and obstructive sleep apnea Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kemal Adali will represent the University hospital and the Medical Faculty of Trakya University in Edirne, Turkey. The scientific event will be joined by many pediatricians, general partitions and students of medicine and dental medicine from Bulgaria and abroad who are currently trained at Varna Medical University.

The official opening of the forum is scheduled for October 18th from 18:00 in the conference room of the "Romance" Hotel and starts with a concert of orthodox and classical works performed by the octet "Joan of Damaskin" - Stara Zagora. A visit to the monastery "St. St. Konstantin and Helena" is planned after the closing session on October 19th.
