University Teachers from MU-Varna with UNICEF Master Trainer Certificates

​​​​​​​​​Training of experts who will be capable of training patronage nurses to support families for child health, development and protection, as well as development of specialized training modules was the aim of the training course of UNICEF (CEE / CIS Regional Training of Master Trainers), which was held from 26th to 30th October in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. The training was conducted by representatives of UNICEF - Bettina Schwethelm and Michel Saint-Lot, a representative of the International Step by Step Association - Zorica Trikic, and the Professor of Clinical Psychology at Nottingham University Kevin Browne. The training was attended by professionals from more than 20 European countries.


 
The Director of Shumen Affiliate at MU-Varna Prof. Sonya Toncheva, the head of the Department of Health Care at the Faculty of Public Health at MU-Varna Assoc. Prof. Silviya Borisova and the Vice-Director of Shumen Affiliate Sevdzhihan Eyubova took part during the five-day interactive training course. Together with their colleagues, they prepared and conducted workshops on early childhood development - attachment, game skills, engaging fathers more effectively. Moreover, a presentation was given, focusing on the experience of MU-Varna, gained through working under a joint project, in partnership with UNICEF, for training and supervision of medical professionals at Centres for Maternal and Child Health, established in the cities of Sliven and Shumen, where nurses and midwives provide patronage services for families with children under the age of three
