As of today 04.08 till 20.09.2014, residents and guests of the city of Varna will have the opportunity to get a free of charge and anonymous HIV test in mobile laboratories, provided by the Municipality of Varna. On today's first day of the campaign, the mobile laboratory is to be situated on Sevastopol Square at 6.00 pm. Students from Varna Medical University are going to distribute information leaflets and conduct a survey among those wishing to get involved in the campaign.
The free tests are part of the Anti-AIDS campaign and Protect Yourself Project, which is funded by the Department for Prevention at Varna Municipality and supported by Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" - Varna. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Association of Medical Students in Bulgaria and supported by the Student Council at MU-Varna.
After the successful completion of the previous campaigns, part of Protect Yourself Project, in May medical students from Varna celebrated the International Day for Sympathy for Those Affected by HIV/AIDS. At the end of the campaign, as a sign of sympathy to all those affected by the virus and the disease, as well as their relatives, dozens of flying lanterns were lit in the night sky over Varna beach.
