Black Sea Symposium for Young Scientists in Biomedicine Gathered Together Students and Specialists from Bulgaria and Abroad for the Sixth Consecutive Year

The Black Sea Symposium for Young Scientists in Biomedicine (BSYSB) was launched at Auditorium I at MU - Varna on 12th April 2018. The scientific forum has been organized for the sixth consecutive time by the students at Medical University - Varna. The international event includes presentations, participation of guest lecturers, poster sessions and practical sessions.

The Symposium enjoys serious international participation and high quality of the research developments of the participating undergraduate and PhD students. More than 600 young scientists from universities and hospitals in our country and abroad have joined the scientific event this year.


Prof. Dr. Albena Kerekovska welcomed the participants and delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Rector of MU - Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov:

"For many of the participants, these are the very first steps along this uneasy path. But the fact that the reports are more diverse and much bolder, and the research developments - more profound, is a sure proof of the young people's desire to do science, to be useful to the people and the society. I congratulate all the participants on their courage and desire to enter upon the boundless field of Biomedicine, where they will have the chance to be led by the best and most experienced specialists!"

The chairperson of the event Magdalena Bliznakova, a 4th-year medical student, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants on behalf of the organizers of the Symposium.


Right after the official opening ceremony, the first session of BSYSB took place. Guest lecturers at the event are leading specialists from Norway, Russia and Turkey. The Symposium continues until 15th April.
