The first donations in response to the appeal of University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna to support the purchase of equipment, supplies and medicines in view of handling the coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) have already been made. Funding for the cause from companies, organisations and citizens has begun to flow into the announced donor account.
Today, the Hospital received personal protective equipment - protective work clothing, disinfectants, helmets, masks and gloves, in the form of donation from the Trade Union Federation of the Employees in the Ministry of Interior. Upon receiving the donation, the Executive Director, Prof. Dr. Silva Andonova, expressed her gratitude for the gesture to the people who face the challenge on the frontline, just like doctors do. She also said that, at these extremely difficult times of uncertain duration, the Hospital needs additional pieces of apparatus for ventilation, as well as ultrasound scanners, fibrobronchoscopes and other equipment, medicines, supplies and personal protective equipment for the medics.
