Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a socially significant epidemiological disease which is widespread in Bulgaria. In order to be effective the fight against diabetes requires a specific state policy including information campaigns, regular prophylactic examinations and strict control over the disease. Students remind that prophylaxis is the best treatment for all illnesses, especially for those which progresses slowly, without acute symptoms as diabetes type 2.
