The Director of UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov and the Donor Coordinator and Head of the Clinic of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Prof. Dr. Viliyan Platikanov received awards for their contribution to organ donation and transplantation in Bulgaria. The first annual awards were presented at a ceremony at the National Theatre, and the initiative is a part of the national campaign "Yes! For life!". The donation coordinators and hospital directors were awarded by Rosen Ivanov, CEO of Medical Audit Executive Agency.
Two donor situations have been realized at UMHAT "St. Marina" - Varna this year, under the guidance of Prof. Viliyan Platikanov. The result is nine saved lives, seven of whom are Bulgarians and two - European citizens.
