Yesterday, 24thJune, the Council of Ministers passed
a decision for the establishment of a new Affiliate of Medical University –
Varna in Veliko Tarnovo. Next the procedure has to pass through the Parliamentary
Committee and a decision of the National Assembly, followed by promulgation in
the State Gazette. After the decision of the National Assembly, the University
will officially request the approval of the number of students allocated to state
admission by a decision of the Council of Ministers. The planned annual intake
is 20 Nurses and 20 Midwives.
"If the decision of the National Assembly has come out by
20 July and we have an approved number of students, we will be able to accept
the first class of students for this academic year 2015/2016. If this does not
happen by that date, the first class of Nurses and Midwives at the Affiliate in
Veliko Tarnovo will begin their training in the autumn of the next 2016," said
Prof. Dr. Albena Kerekovska, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at MU Varna.
"In both cases we are
ready to promote the establishment of the Affliate, to announce the admission of
students, to organize preparatory courses and conduct the admission
campaign," assured the Rector Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov.
