Until the end of May you may visit the exhibition in Varna Medical University which is dedicated to the threat by the genetically modified organisms. It was initiated by the Faculty of Pharmacy and a nongovernmental organization called "Public centre for environmental protection and sustainable development" (www.ecovarna.info).
10 boards are exhibited in the corridor on the first floor of Varna Medical University which show numerous facts on the topic widely disputed all over the world. It came up on the agenda 4 years ago when the law banning the growing of GMO was adopted in Bulgaria. With this step Bulgaria and France turned into example for the rest of the ES member countries. But this did not put an end to the debates on the topic because the maw does not prohibit the import of foodstuffs containing GMO.
The exhibition organisers from Varna Medical University and the Public centre for environmental protection and sustainable development are discussing future initiatives aimed at issues and problems related to electronic waste substances, chemistry for the households and the dangerous hospital waste.
