The official opening ceremony of the International
Festival of Red Cross and Health Films, which takes place from 3 to 7 November,
under the auspices of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria Mrs.
Margarita Popova, will be held on 3rd November 2014 at 7:00 pm, at Sanatorium
and Healthcare Complex "Kamchiya".
At the ceremony, the volunteers from MU-Varna who
rendered help to the flood victims in Asparukhovo will be awarded by BRC. The
mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih is going to award a plaque for humanism in cinematography
to the Serbian director Goran Paskaljevic, a winner of numerous awards from the
most prestigious international film festivals and a board member of the
European Film Academy and a special guest-director of the Festival. The opening
ceremony will end with a screening of his film When Day Breaks (2012), awarded with
the Special Jury Award for the best film at Palm Springs Grand Prix in
Famous representatives of the actor and film circles in
our country will be guests at the event. Among them will be the director of the
National Film Centre Georgi Cholakov, the directors Andrei Slabakov, Milena
Kaneva, Niki Kanchev, the actors Anya Pencheva, Ernestina Shinova, Nikola Anastasov,
Ivan Laskin, Martina Vachkova , Mariyan Valev and many others.
All citizens and
guests of Varna are invited to the opening ceremony. A bus departs every hour
from 1:00 to 5:00 pm from Antim I Str. - next to the Regional History Museum - to
SHC "Kamchiya". All you need to do is take your free travel ticket at
the building of BRC (3 Bratya Shkorpil Str.), which is close to the departure
bus stop for SHC "Kamchiya".
