This has been announced today, 15th November
2014, at the official ceremony, held in Hall 1 at Festival and Congress Center –
Varna, on the occasion of the graduation of the students of Class 2014 of the Faculty
of Public Health at MU-Varna. 202 graduates received their diplomas, 80 of them
graduating with honours. The diplomas of the Masters in Public Health were
awarded for the first time, which was implemented under the educational
franchise with Casa College in Nicosia, Cyprus. The first and only in our
country Masters in Pharmacy Management received their diplomas as well. The graduates
majoring in Nursery, Midwifery, Health Management, Pharmacy Management and Health
Care Management, both Bachelors and Masters, received their diplomas from the
Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov.
St. Marina University Hospital has already
provided 15 workplaces for nurses on permanent employment contract and announced
eight new vacancies for this specialty. St. Anna Hospital- Varna and MMA - Varna
provide 3 workplaces for nurses on permanent employment contract and Prof. Dr.
D. Stamatov Hospital offers employment to the newly graduated nurses at the
Department of Neonatology and the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation and invites all graduates majoring in Midwifery to start
work at the department.
"You have chosen to take the path of a noble
profession – taking care of people's health and lives. Your daily work and
overwhelming desire to develop your potential made it possible to reach this
high goal. You had joys and difficulties during your studies, but you managed
to acquire new knowledge, skills and faithful friends. And your mentors -
professors, associate professors and assistant professors were always close to
you," said in his congratulatory speech the Rector Prof. Ivanov. He wished the graduates to carry the
nobility of the profession in their hearts throughout their whole lives and to pursue great professional achievements for the benefit of the Bulgarian healthcare.
Iliyana Hristova from Public Health professional
field and Mariya Slavova from Health Care professional field were given the Award
“Best Student of Class 2014” by the Rector. Assoc. Prof. Emanuela Mutafova,
Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, awarded for the first time the award of
the Dean of FPH for contributions to the development of the Faculty. A prize
was awarded to Prof. Dr. Stoyanka Popova - the first Dean of FPH during 2002 –
2011. Assoc. Prof. Mutafova awarded also the newly established award in honour
of Prof. Dr. Miroslav Popov and Dr. Nataliya Usheva. Masters and PhD students will
be distinguished with this award for their significant achievements in the
defended by them master and doctoral theses. The best student Iliana Hristova
was also awarded with the title “The Best Person I Know” by her peers.
The graduates received
a musical greeting - Emil Dimitrov’s song If You Have Given, performed by Martin
Stefanov, third course Medical student, and the twelve-year old Stefan Trifonov
who performed the song Show Must Go On by Freddie Mercury.
Among the official guests at the ceremony were the
MP from 43rd National Assembly Dr. Ruslan Toshev, the Deputy Regional Governor
of Varna district Dimitar Chuturkov, the Deputy Regional Governor of Shumen
district Daniela Mironova, the Deputy Mayor of Shumen Municipality Sedat Kadir,
the Director of Social Affairs and Health Care of Veliko Turnovo Municipality
Rositsa Dimitrova, the honorable member of the Board of Trustees and the Rector
of Medical University - Varna during 1990 - 1999 Prof. Dr. Dimitar Kamburov, as
well as hospital directors, deans of faculties of other universities in the
country, parents and guests.
