MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF VARNA HOSTED A MEETING WITH THE INTERNATIONAL BLACK SEA CLUB

    Last Saturday /24 January 2015/ the Medical University of Varna received the members of the Managing Board of the International Black Sea Club /IBSC/.  The meeting, which took place in "Ass. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Klisarov" hall in the Faculty of Dental Medicine, was opened by Prof. Todorka Kostadinova - Vice-Rector for International Relations, Accreditation and Quality by welcoming the guests from Russia, Turkey, Romania, Abkhazia and Greece. During the visit, the achievements, innovations and projects of MU-Varna were presented in the fields of education, science and healthcare, as well as the options for treatment with modern methods at the newly opened Center for Translational Medicine and Cell Therapy and the first and only University Dental Center in Bulgaria.

   The guests were impressed by the high technologies and modern equipment available in the University and in the University Dental Center, which they were able to get acquainted with. Possibilities for development of cooperation in the fields of education and medical tourism were discussed. Among the participants were the IBSC President Mr. Sergey Bezdolniy - Mayor of the city of Azov, Russia, the Chairman of IBSC Business Mr. Alexander Amerkhanov - President of the Chamber of Commerce in the city of Taganrog, Russia, the mayors of the cities of Trabzon and Sukhumi, senior administrators from Kavala and Galati.

    Special guest of the event was Mr. Evgeniy Szhenov - Chairman of the International Association for Continuing Education, representing over 300 educational organizations in Russia.

     "International Black Sea Club" includes 28 cities from eight Black Sea countries. The organization is seated in Varna. Among the objectives of the organization are to promote the development and strengthening of business cooperation in the Black Sea region by solving common tasks related to the Black Sea coast, to develop and implement joint programs and projects in order to achieve maximum impact on cities, to organize exchange of information, to promote the development of tourism.

   
The 32th meeting of the IBSC Managing Board was held in the period 23-25 January 2015 in Varna. Part of its program included the visit to Varna Medical University and University Dental Center.
