At the beginning of this month the Library of MU-Varna became a full member of the Association of European Research Libraries LIBER together with over 400 institutions and organizations from more than 40 countries worldwide, including the libraries of some of the most prestigious universities in Oxford and Cambridge.
The strategic objectives of the Association are oriented towards science communication and research infrastructure, restructuring research libraries and creation of services that meet the future needs of European researchers.
Our membership in LIBER provides a number of advantages such as the opportunity to join various working groups and forums for knowledge exchange and relationships with colleagues on matters concerning research infrastructure, public support, copyright, digital collections.
Thanks to our membership in LIBER we will also have the opportunity to apply for funding from European projects, similar to more than 50 members of LIBER which have applied so far. In addition, the Library team will be able to publish metadata, records and full text of scientific dissertations in Open Access DART (European portal for scientific dissertations), which will contribute to greater international visibility of the scientific activities of the Academic Staff of MU-Varna and the collaboration with their colleagues from around the world. That is why authors should submit to the Library team abstracts of their dissertations in English.
