"MU-Varna is My Second Home, Where I Have Met Outstanding Professionals," Said H.E. Ambassador of Israel at the Award Ceremony for the Stara Planina Order

​On July 24, at a ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall at the Presidency, the Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, in the presence of ambassadors, MPs, ministers and representatives of Shalom Organization, conferred Stara Planina second degree order to H. E. Shaul Kamins-Raz - Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria.

The Rector of Medical University - Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov and the Honorary Consul of Israel to Bulgaria Prof. Dr. Krasimir Metodiev were among the official guests at the ceremony, dedicated to the completion of the 3-year term of office of the Ambassador and his departure from our country.

In his speech the President thanked H.E. for his contribution to the development and strengthening of the Bulgarian-Israeli relations. The Ambassador in turn expressed his deep gratitude to all Bulgarians and emphasized that MU-Varna was the institution that he had visited most often - 14 times within 3 years and 6 months' term of office. Never has an ambassador visited one and the same institution so many times during his diplomatic service in a country.​​

The Ambassador also said: "MU-Varna is my second home, a place where I have met outstanding professionals, an institution where we have been developing a number of joint projects with Israel, and above all, a place where I have found sincere friends such as the Rector of the University, his team and especially our Honorary Consul, who is the inseparable link between MU-Varna and the Embassy of Israel."


H.E. Shaul Kamins-Raz addressed warm words of gratitude to MU-Varna for the commitment, collaboration and active cooperation with the University Hospitals in Israel, resulting in the development of a number of successful projects, organization of thematic work seminars of MU-Varna, with the participation of eminent Israeli specialists, as well as for the aid rendered by the team of MU-Varna during the bomb attack at Burgas Airport and especially for the organization and holding of two specialized workshops on Counterterrorism in Varna (2014 and 2015), in cooperation with leading Israeli experts.​
