Today Is the Last Day of the Three-Day Campaign “Teddy Bear Hospital”

The Association of Medical Students in Varna and the Patient Organization of People with Rare Diseases in Varna, in partnership with the Student Council at MU-Varna, the Associations of Students in Pharmacy and Dental Medicine, together with the Department of Pediatrics at University Hospital St. Marina - Varna organized the campaign "Teddy Bear Hospital" for yet another year.

Teddy Bear Hospital is an international project, loved by children worldwide. The campaign aims to acquaint little kids with the work of doctors, pharmacists and dentists in the most accessible and enjoyable for them way and to help them overcome their fears of manipulations and white coats. The patients are the kids' plush toys and the "teddy-bearish doctors" are the medical students from Varna Medical University. Playing games, kids learn a lot about hygiene, the healthy way of eating and what actually takes place in a hospital. They communicate with the young doctors in a friendly and relaxed way.

The first two days of the campaign, 22nd and 23rd February, were held respectively at the Grand Mall and the Department of Pediatrics at University Hospital St. Marina. Talking about the diseases of their plush toys, the children acquired new knowledge and skills. There was a registration desk, a Pharmacy, ENT surgeries, general practitioners, neurologists, an operating theatre, Radiology, a dental surgery and many others at the Teddy Bear Hospital. Interesting and funny games expected them in the waiting rooms, and at the Hospital Pharmacy the recipes were for sweets.

Today, 25th February, the last initiative of the three-day campaign is to be held. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bliznakova will deliver the final lecture on "Child's Fever - Friend or Enemy", at 6:30 pm, at the second auditorium of MU-Varna.
