The Basketball Team of MU-Varna Is the Champion of Varna Universiade

In addition to the championship title and the first place of our volleyball team, the basketball players of MU-Varna won yet another title. After three strenuous victories, the team of the Medical University won the basketball tournament of the 16th Varna Universiade, which took place at the renovated sports hall of MU-Varna from 16 to 22 April.

After playing all ten games in the programme, VFU Chernorizets Hrabar and Medical University - Varna ended up on top, on equal 7 points. However, during the direct, most important game between them the "medics", led by the former ace of the Black Sea Team Vladimir Marinov, were more resourceful and defeated their colleagues with 64:56.

The Most Valuable Player Award was presented to the basketball player of "the Medicine" Venelin Parvanov. The Fair Play Award went to a player of the Technical University team.

The football semi-final between the teams of MU-Varna and the University of Economics is to be played today, at 3:00 pm, at the municipal playground in the Sea Garden. Winning this match means that our guys are going to play in the final, at 6:00 pm.

Tomorrow, 25.04., the athletics race is to take place along the central promenade in the Sea Garden, in the vicinity of the Summer Theatre.
