Since the beginning of the academic 2013/2014 an increasing interest has been observed on behalf of the former Soviet republics to establish partnerships with Varna Medical University. Proposals have been made for joint academic training and scientific research. Representatives from universities in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia are eager to cooperate. In addition to students who wish to come for summer practices, internships and training at Varna Medical University, our academic teams are invited to teach in these countries.
Varna Medical University has a number of long-standing partnerships with countries of the European Union. Our higher school, however, does not cease to look for new opportunities and expand the horizons and the future development of its international relations. Thus, for instance, a new collaboration started at the end of last year with the School of Medicine at Washington University in Saint Luis, USA, for the establishment of a simulation centre. The joint project envisages the introduction of simulation models in the training of medical students.
Varna Medical University maintains partnership with 53 universities and educational institutions from 34 countries on 4 continents. The international partnerships are based on bilateral agreements for academic collaboration in the fields of academic training and scientific research carried out in all four faculties (Medicine, Dental Medicine, Public Health and Pharmacy) and the Medical College.
