The first module of a course in the History of Medicine, with
a leading lecturer Acad. Prof. Dr. Miladin Apostolov - Vice-Chairman of BASA
and Chairman of the Department of Sciences, began today, 17 June 2016, at
Medical University - Varna. The course, which is organized by the Faculty of
Public Health, is in line with the general policy of the University to develop
the scientific field of the History of Medicine. Participants in the training are representatives of
the academic community of MU-Varna and other universities in the country. It
enables participants to focus their efforts on social, scientific and cultural
aspects of the History of Medicine, as well as on the relationship between medicine
and humanities. The History
of Medicine is now a mandatory part of the training of the students at MU-Varna,
and the introduction of a series of training modules in this subject will help
researchers and lecturers to improve their skills and get acquainted with the latest
developments in the scientific studies in this field.
