The second module of the course in the History of Medicine was held on 2-3 September 2016 at Medical University-Varna. The lecturers of the course, organized by the Faculty of Public Health, were Acad. Prof. Dr. Miladin Apostolov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Marinov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevyana Feschieva. The topics that provoked great interest among the course participants were related to the medical and anthropological review and prehistoric culture, medical schools in Bulgaria, the history of hospital care over the centuries, the contribution of Varna Medical Society and its members to the development of professional and scientific medical life in Bulgaria and others. An important focus during the training was the discussion on the historical and medical approach to medical ethics, an important factor in the healthcare sector.
Prof. Todorka Kostadinova, Vice Rector, presented a congratulatory address to Acad. Prof. Dr. Miladin Apostolov on the occasion of his 85th anniversary.
After the end of the lectures, there was a round table on topics related to medical ethics and the history of medicine.
All participants received certificates for a completed course in the History of Medicine.
