Neurosurgeon from University Hospital “St. Marina” with EMN Young Scientific Award in Neurotraumatology

Dr. Bogomil Iliev, a postgraduate student at the Department of Neurosurgery at St. Marina University Hospital - Varna and an Assistant Professor at the Medical University was awarded with the prestigious award for young scientists during the 21th Congress of EuroAcademy for Multidisciplinary Neurotraumatology (AMN). The scientific event, which was held under the motto "Controversies in Neurotraumatology", took place from 20th to 22nd October 2016 in Novi Sad, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Serbia.

Representatives of MU-Varna and the Department of Neurosurgery at St. Marina University Hospital - Varna participated in the jointly ongoing 21st AMN Congress, 5th Neurosurgical Congress of the Danube-Carpathian Region (NSCDCR), 2nd Congress of the Serbian Neurosurgery Society (SNS) and Symposium of the South East European Neurosurgery Society (SeENS).

During the scientific congress Dr. Iliev presented the topic: "Endoscope-assisted evacuation of chronic subdural haematoma - 121 Minimal-invasive procedures", which was developed by a team of authors, consisting of Prof. Dr. Y. Enchev, Dr. B. Iliev, Dr. T. Kondev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. T. Avramov, Dr. Pl. Trendafilov, Dr. E. Zaharieva, Dr. M. Moynov and Dr. St. Todorova.

 The award is an international recognition for MU-Varna and the Department of Neurosurgery at St. Marina University Hospital - Varna, which is one of the leading hospitals not only in Bulgaria but also in the whole region.
