The Project for Improving the Conditions for Treatment of People with Mental Disorders at St. Marina University Hospital-Varna Has Been Completed

On Friday, the team involved with the implementation of Project "New Opportunities for Quality and Modern Services for People with Mental Disorders at MHAT St. Marina EAD, Varna", under Programme BG07 "Initiatives for Public Health" reported to the public the results achieved, after completing the project, whose total value is € 268,595. Throughout 10 months, complete renovation of Third Psychiatric Clinic for treatment of mental disorders in elderly people has been carried out, and more than 100 members of the medical personnel have been trained for enhancing their qualification. Being a leader in its field, the University Clinic also provides treatment for patients directed from other psychiatric departments.

As a result of the completed project, renovation has been carried out in the premises for conducting the therapeutic process, in the plumbing system with construction of new bathrooms and in the heating system. The electrical wiring has been replaced entirely, and a new fire alarm system has been built, the amortized infrastructure has been replaced. New, modern conditions have been created - both for treatment and providing care to patients, and for favourable working environment for the medical personnel. This will inevitably raise the level of medical services provided to people with mental disorders in Varna, as well as the level of medical work at Third Psychiatric Clinic at St. Marina University Hospital-Varna.

Project "New Opportunities for Quality and Modern Services for People with Mental Disorders at MHAT St. Marina EAD, Varna" was implemented with the financial support of Programme BG07 "Initiatives for Public Health", implemented by the Ministry of Health and EEA Financial Mechanism and NFM 2009-2014.
