Yesterday, July 6th 2015, an orientation day was held on the
occasion of the forthcoming summer practice of medical students from the First
Moscow State Medical University “I.M. Sechenov”. The students from Moscow were welcomed by
Prof. Todorka Kostadinova - Vice Rector for International Relations,
Accreditation and Quality at the Medical University of Varna, and Mrs Aneta
Dokova – Head of the Department of International Relations.
For a period of two weeks the Russian exchange students will be trained
in the University clinical bases of the Varna Medical University under the direct
guidance of leading specialists in the respective fields and the coordination
of the project is carried out by the Deans of the Faculties of Medicine, Dental
Medicine and Pharmacy at Varna Medical University. The clinical practice in
internal diseases will be supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Branimir Kanazirev in
one of the most advanced hi-tech hospitals in Bulgaria – University Hospital
“St. Marina” and Dr. Georgi Papanchev will guide the internship of the dental
medical students in the University Medico-dental Centre which is the only one of
its kind in our country. The practice in pharmacy will be supervised by
Assistant Professor Iliyan Kolev.
For the fifth consecutive year, Varna Medical University accepts
students from Moscow for their summer practice which takes place within the
framework of a bilateral agreement for academic cooperation. With every year
the interest of the Russian students is increasing and the scope of the
collaboration is broadening. Apart from the traditional summer practices, joint
scientific fora and conferences are conducted. The programme started in 2011
with a total of 10 students of medicine and dental medicine. This year the
exchange students from Moscow are 15 from Faculties of Medicine, Dental
Medicine and Pharmacy.
A group of students from Varna Medical University is soon leaving for
their two-week summer practice which is to take place in First Moscow State
Medical University “I.M. Sechenov”.
