Since 6thMarch 2018 the Vice-Rector for "Career Development, Research and Post Graduate Education" at Medical University - Varna has been Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Georgiev, DSc, elected through a Decision of the Academic Council. Prof. Dr. Georgiev is also Head of Cardiology Clinics Direction and Head of Second Clinic of Invasive Cardiology at University Hospital "St. Marina" - Varna.
Prof. Georgiev was born on 4th May 1960 in Provadia, Varna District. He graduated in Medicine from Higher Medical Institute - Varna in 1986. He has more than 65 scientific publications in specialized scientific journals, more than 80 participations at congresses, conferences. His major research developments are in the field of interventional treatment of heart diseases and functional diagnostics of heart diseases. He is a member of the Society of Cardiologists in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Society of Interventional Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, Bulgarian Medical Association.
