The Medical University of Varna is the first and only representative of our country, which at the beginning of March this year became a full member of the European Nutrigenomics Organisation - NuGO. The membership of the University in the Association will allow doctoral and post-doctoral researchers in the field of Nutrition, Nutrigenomics, Genomics, prevention and treatment of socially significant diseases to apply for full and partial scholarships in the organized by the Organisation training courses, seminars and conferences. Furthermore, free access to software programmes for data processing has been provided.
Currently a total of 25 representatives from 12 countries are members of the European Nutrigenomics Organisation. MU- Varna is one of the first partners of the European Nutrigenomics Organisation, whose activities represent high-tech research in the field of Nutrigenomics. The contacts initiated in 2008, and the active participation of representatives from the team of Prof. Diana Ivanova, DSc from the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine and Nutrigenomics at the annual conferences NuGO Week, have grown into a partnership in the NutriTech project - "Application of new technologies and methods in nutritional science - an example of phenotypic plasticity", in which MU – Varna is actively involved.
