On May 10th 2017 the Ambassador of Pakistan His Excellency Mr A. S. Babar Hashmi visited the Medical University of Varna.
The visit was initiated by the Embassy of Islamic Republic Pakistan in Bulgaria. This is the first time the Ambassador has been to Varna. With the University management he shared that he had been looking forward to coming to the Medical University of Varna about which he had heard that it is one of the most modern and reputed higher medical schools recognised in Europe.
During the meeting Mr Hashmi underlined that the diplomatic and cultural links between Pakistan and the Republic of Bulgaria have a history of over 50 years and that it is time to extend them to academic relations in the field of medicine.
His Excellency Mr Hashmi proposed to mediate for the establishment of a cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Medical University of Varna and a selected leading Pakistani medical university.
After the presentation of MU-Varna by Prof. Albena Kerekovska, Prof. Toodorka Kostadinova made a brief introduction of the international projects and partners of MU – Varna and invited the Ambassador to the second edition of the International Forum of MU-Varna Partnerships. Mr Hashmi expressed his willingness to facilitate the dissemination of information about all events whose host and organizer is the University.
