A scientific team at the Faculty of Pharmacy and a research team at a pharmaceutical company together have developed the first nutritional supplement with the logo of MU-Varna - Entenar +. This initiative was inspired by a team of technologists, headed by Assoc. Prof. Velichka Andonova, head of TS Technology of Medicinal Formulations at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technologies at MU-Varna. The project implementation was conducted under the auspices of the Rector of MU-Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Diana Ivanova.
The idea of a science-based nutritional supplement was supported by Natstim Ltd., a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer both on the Bulgarian and on the international market. Thanks to its long experience in creating and introducing food supplements, the final product can now be found in Medunipharm University Pharmacies, as well as in the pharmacy network throughout the country.
The composition of Entenar+ includes plant extracts, rich in biologically active substances that alleviate the symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders of different origin. For a more thorough evaluation of the qualities of the nutritional supplement, a clinical follow-up assessment of the effect is to be conducted, which will take place at the Clinic of Hepatogastroenterology, under the monitoring of doctors specialists, and lecturers, from TS Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the Second Clinic of Internal Medicine.
The packaging design is a joint project of the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy and students at the Faculty of Pharmacy at MU-Varna.
