For the first time students from St. Petersburg will carry out their
summer practice in the University hospital "St. Marina". It comes
shortly after the summer practices of the 28 Moscow students in the
training facilities of MU-Varna. The summer practice which will take place from August 2nd to August 18th
is conducted within the bilateral agreement for academic cooperation
which recently has been signed between MU-Varna and North-West State
Medical University "I.I. Mechnikov" in St. Petersburg. The group of
students is led by Prof. Elena Frolova from the Department of Family
Medicine in St. Petersburg. On behalf of MU-Varna, the coordinator of
the summer practice is Prof. Valentina Madjova – Head of the Department
of General Medicine.
On August 6th 2014, the head of the students' group from St. Petersburg met the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health – Assoc. Prof. Emanuela Mutafova who presented the programmes in public healthcare and especially the Master's degree programme in Russian language – "Public healthcare and healthcare management" to the guests. The opportunities for students from the both universities for participation in joint scientific fora were discussed during the meeting. Prof. Frolova was impressed by the facilities in the University and the University hospital. She thanked Dr. Vasil Bojkov and Dr. Sv. Hristova who are in charge of the students' summer practices as well as the Department of International Relations for the overall organization and collaboration.
