The First Medical Opticians in Bulgaria Graduated from Medical College - Varna

215 specialists from Medical College – Varna, including the first medical opticians in Bulgaria, were awarded their diplomas at an official ceremony today, 05.11.2016, at Hall 1 of the Festival and Congress Centre – Varna. The alumni are from 8 professional fields - Medical Cosmetician, Medical Optician, Dental Technician, Assistant–Pharmacist, Physiotherapy Assistant, Public Health Inspector, Medical Laboratory Assistant and X-ray Laboratory Assistant.

The Rector of MU - Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov addressed the graduates saying, "Love the profession you have dedicated yourselves to. It is the meaning of our lives. Never give up the path chosen! Never give up! Hone your skills and acquire new knowledge every single day because a man learns as long as he lives."

The Deputy Mayor of Varna Mr. Kosta Bazitov congratulated the graduates from Class 2016 and reminded them that the coasts of Varna are seeing off, but also they are always ready to welcome their friends. All outstanding students, whose number this year in tune with the anniversary of the University is 55, were awarded by the Rector with money prizes and certificates "Outstanding Student of Class 2016". The valedictorian Tyulyay Ibrahim from specialty Medical Cosmetician wished his colleagues health and successful professional career.

Official guests at the ceremony were the Deputy Governor of Varna District Administration Mr. Kristian Bogoyev, the Deputy Mayor of Varna Mr. Kosta Bazitov,  the honourable member of the Board of Trustees at Medical University - Varna Prof. Dr. Temelko Temelkov, the Rector of the University in the period 2004-2012, Prof. Dr. Aneliya Klisarova, the CEO of St. Marina University Hospital – Varna Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov, the chairperson of the Regional Pharmaceutical Association of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union master-pharm. Rada Pehlivanova, the Management Board chairperson of the Regional Board of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals Raina Boyadzhieva.

The alumni and academic management received congratulatory addresses from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria Mrs. Meglena Kuneva, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Petar Moskov, the District Governor of Varna Mr. Stoyan Pasev, the Mayor of Varna Mr. Ivan Portnih, the directors of the Medical Colleges - Plovdiv and Stara Zagora Prof. Dr. Nikoleta Traykova and Prof. Dr. Hristina Milcheva, the CEO of St. Anna University Hospital - Varna Dr. Galen Shivarov and many others.

Musical surprises to the graduating students were the performances of the 10-year-old Monika Parusheva - laureate of many international competitions, and the Folk Dance Ensemble of MU-Varna.​​​
