The fifth year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” - Varna Yoana Sotirova was awarded during the annual award ceremony of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union for students majoring in educational and qualification “Master” degree in the Pharmacy professional direction. Representatives of the academic community from the whole country attended the award ceremony, which was held for the sixth consecutive year.
A special committee of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union selected this year's award-winning students and, in addition to the excellent GPA score and recommendations by habilitated lecturers, the future young pharmacists were evaluated also for their activities and pronounced interests in the pharmaceutical science and practice.
Yoana Sotirova expressed her gratitude for the support of the lecturers at Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” and said that the choice of a specialty and a university had been one of the best decisions in her life.
The idea of awarding BPhU scholarships was initiated by the Master Pharmacist Ventsislav Yanchev, whose aim was to encourage and support talented young pharmacists in their academic and professional pursuits.
“This is the understanding of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union about the responsibility to the young people, because the future lies in their hands,” said Prof. Ilko Getov, President of BPhU, while awarding the scholarships.
