Assoc. prof. Deyan Dzhenkov, MD, PhD, graduated Medicine from Trakia University, Faculty of Medicine in 1999. Between 1999-2006 he worked as a doctor in the Department of Clinical Pathology in the MHAT, Silistra. In 2002, he started his residency in General and clinical pathology. In 2006, he became an assistant professor in the Department of General and Clinical Pathology, Forensic Medicine and Deontology in Medical University Varna. He became a specialist in General and clinical pathology in 2007. In 2019, he defended his PhD thesis entitled " Expression of transcription factor ZBTB20 in glial tumors of the Central nervous system" successfully. Since 2020, he has been an associated professor in Medical University Varna. He attended 2nd Annual Biofluid Biopsies and High-Value Diagnostics Conference, 2015 in Boston, USA.
Assoc. prof. Deyan Dzhenkov, MD, PhD has published over 80 full-text publications and over 20 abstracts from different national and international conferences. His works have been cited more than 300 times. He was the leader of scientific project 19010, Fund Science, MU Varna.

He is a certified pathologist for the DISH score and trainer for evaluation of the expression of PD-L1 in non-small cell lung carcinoma and urothelial carcinoma in 2017 and 2018, "Targos" Kassel, Germany, and 2019 – for tumors of the head and neck.
