Ch. assist. Prof. Mariya Levkova, MD, PhD was born in Varna on 17.12.1991. In 2010г., she graduated from First Language School, Varna, and in 2010 she started studying medicine in Medical University Varna. She graduated first in her class from Medical University Varna in 2010. In February 2017 she started working as an assistant professor in the department of Medical genetics. She also started her residency in Medical genetics in 2017. In January 2018 she began her PhD studies. In 2021, she defended her PhD thesis “Molecular-Genetic and Immunological Biomarkers in Medical Genetic Counselling of Families with Infertility” successfully. In 2021, she became a specialist in Medical genetics and holder of the certificate “European Certificate in Medical Genetics and Genomics”. She visited different training courses in Greece and Germany.
Dr Mariya Levkova has over 30 full-text publications and has published abstracts from over 40 national and international conferences. Her main scientific interests are reproductive genetics, advanced genetic technologies and, cancer genetics.
