Students from
Medical University - Varna took part in one-week summer school in Moscow in the
field of Urological Oncology, Urogenital and Reconstructive Surgery. The
organizers of the educational module are the University of Cambridge and I.M.
Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
A total of 12 students took part in the summer school - four from the School
of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge, five from various medical
universities in Russia, a student from the Medical University in Paris (France)
and two representatives of Medical University - Varna.
The lecture module
was conducted by renowned UK and Russian specialists - Nikesh Thiruchelvam - Chief
Consultant on Urogenital and Reconstructive Surgery at Cambridge University
Hospital, Denis Butnaru - Director of the Institute of Regenerative Medicine
at I.M. Sechenov First MSMU and Evgeni Bezukov - Head of a Department at an Urology
Clinic and a lecturer at I.M. Sechenov First MSMU, who presented the latest
methods of treatment and diagnostics of common pathologies in Urology.
The practical part of the event was mainly focused on
laparoscopic surgery and the acquisition of practical skills in the working
process. The students worked in an international team in real clinical setting,
taking care of patients.
