Non-standard
scientific visualizations and concepts, collected in an interactive exhibition,
are to be presented by the Research Institute of Medical University - Varna and
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" on the eve of the Day of
the Bulgarian National Revival Leaders (the Day of the Bulgarian Enlighteners).
The exciting exposition, which is the result of inter-university
interdisciplinary research in the field of science, opens on 31st
October 2019 at the White Salon of the Sea Casino in Varna from 2.00 pm to 5.00
pm.
The event "The
New Enlighteners" aims to intrigue and inspire the young Bulgarians, to
popularize science and to make it accessible and interesting for all ages,
provoking Varna citizens with non-standard scientific visualizations and concepts.
The exposition
will exhibit images, visualizations, interactive installations, holographic and
3D models created by scientists and students in the fields of Medicine, Computer
Sciences, Astronomy, Architecture, Design, etc. The activities of various research
groups will be presented in an unconventional manner, and leading international
research centres and universities will display their exhibits and research developments.
Some of the
images that will be presented have been created during a joint training on
analysis of biomedical images between scientists and experts from the
Department of Informatics at the Varna Free University and the Department of
Anatomy and Cell Biology at Medical University – Varna. The training took place
at the beginning of September 2019 in Varna and brought together students
interested in science, students majoring in Computer Sciences and Medicine, PhD
students and lecturers. The experts from both universities continue their work
on joint projects and innovative research practices for new scientific
breakthroughs.
