Ten dental practitioners from across the country received their certificates after taking the first of its kind course in Dental Implantology, which was held in five modules last year. The course started in January 2014 as part of the official postgraduate training programme of MU-Varna.
The course participants had the opportunity to acquire extensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of Dental Implantology, whereas the clinical demonstrations were conducted by means of the state-of-the-art facilities of the University Medico-Dental Centre at MU-Varna, which was opened in November.
The course was held under the direction of Assoc. Prof. St. Peev, head of the Department of Periodontology and Dental Implantology. Acad. Prof. N. Popov, Assoc. Prof. T. Georgiev, Assoc. Prof. M. Abadzhiev, Dr. G. Papanchev also took part in it. The dental doctors who have passed the course successfully will be entitled to carry out a range of activities in the field of Dental Implantology.
The first university course in Dental Implantology is over, but the fact that two new groups of course participants have already been set up proves the great interest in the possibility for continuous training that MU-Varna provides to certified dental practitioners. Currently the enrollment for the third group of course participants is underway. The training of the new groups will be launched in February.
