MU-Varna Won the Tennis and Bowling Championship Titles. Silver Medals in Football and the Athletics Race

103 points and the first place for the tennis team of MU-Varna is the outcome of the Tennis Tournament within the 16th Varna Universiade, which was held on 25 and 26 April. The University of Economics is second with 26 points, and the third place is for the Technical University with 24 points.

The first four places in the women's singles were completely dominated by the medical students - first place for Elitsa Mollova (I course), second place for Iliana Petrova (I course ELT), third place for Victoria Tabakova (I course, Dental Medicine), fourth place for Nadine Fernandez (I course ELT).

The medical students ELT Lucas Brugner and Alexander Wolf won respectively the second and fourth place in the men's singles.

The bowling team of MU-Varna won the first place with 1196 points in the tournament, which was held on 23 April. Despite the fact that according to the tournament regulations each university was allowed to compete with two teams, MU-Varna took part with only one team, still our score was 157 points higher than the score of the second team – the one of Varna Free University.

On 24 April the football team of MU-Varna played in the finals against the team of the University of Economics. The match finished 0:0, which led to penalty shootouts with a score 2:1 for the University of Economics. The football player of the University of Economics Ivaylo Stanchev, a son of the former football player of Spartak - Varna, Cherno More and CSKA Valentin Stanchev, became the top goalscorer of the tournament with 9 goals. The student from MU-Varna Stephan Zimonait was awarded with the Fair Play Prize.

We are also second in the team ranking in the athletics race, which took place on 25 April in the Sea Garden. Out of 50 contestants Vanessa Borst, 2 course, Medicine-ELT, finished third in the women's 1000 metres race. Iliya Iliev -5 course, Medicine won the third place in the men's 2000 meters race.

The Table Tennis Tournament is to be played today at 3:00 pm, at the University of Economics.
