Organized by MU-Varna and BRC, Autumn Academy 2016: "Aggression - Humanity - Cinema" Starts

Autumn Film Academy will be organized between two competitive editions of the International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films for the first time since the beginning of its new life. With the support of Medical University - Varna and the National Council of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Autumn Academy 2016 will bring together artists, journalists, analysts, theorists and practitioners of film art, representatives of BRC, cultural event organizers, audience and public figures at Sanatorium and Health Complex "Kamchia".

From 17th to 21st November 2016 they will be united under the topic "Aggression - Humanity - Cinema". Does modern cinema reflect the aggression and humanity of our society, the concerns of entire nations, the destinies of people overwhelmed by events? Who and how do they help today, and where does humanity in the modern world manifest itself - these provocative questions and topics, associated with aggression, humanity and cinema will be the focus of the three main modules of Autumn Academy 2016:

- Lectures and discussions
- Studio Workshop, in which representatives of BRC throughout the country will learn "How to make a documentary film"
- Screenings of documentaries, short films and premiere movies.

Prof. Bozhidar Manov, artistic director of the Festival; Emil Spahiyski, journalist; Toma Tomov, journalist and political commentator; Dr. Slavita Dzhambazova, Deputy General Director of the Bulgarian Red Cross; Dr. Tsvetelina Tarpomanova, Medical University - Varna; Maksim Behar, PR expert; Stefan Kitanov, producer, festival director and film distributor, are some of the lecturers at the Academy.

The topic that unites the different modules of Autumn Academy 2016 was prompted by the current issues of the society on a global scale - ubiquitous aggression against manifestation of humanity, which is more and more missing nowadays. How are these two trends manifested and how do we reflect and overcome them? - a colorful picture that will be outlined by the lecturers of the Academy and completed during the discussions.

The screenings for the direct participants in the Academy, as well as the modules Discussion and Studio Workshop, will be held at Sanatorium and Health Complex "Kamchia".
The citizens of Varna and its guests are invited to the film screenings at the Plenary Hall of the Municipality of Varna during the days of the forum.
