The third out of five levels of the course in Dental Implantology, conducted
by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stefan Peev, was held on 11th and 12th
July 2015, at the Faculty of Dental Medicine at Medical University - Varna. It
was attended by 13 dental doctors from across the country. The course is a part
of the formal Postgraduate Training Programme of MU-Varna.
Lectures on “Sinus Floor Lift”, “Bone Augmentation” and “Tissue Restorative
Materials” were delivered during the first day. Furthermore, practical
exercises on Maxillary Sinus Floor Lift were performed on a phantom model. Live demonstration of
various clinical implantology cases from the operational unit of the University
Medico-Dental Centre were shown during
the second part of the course. The
participants had the task to prepare their patients and to place implants under
the control of the head of the operational sector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tihomir
Georgiev and Dr. Georgi Papanchev.
25 dental doctors have
received certificates for successful completion of the 3 levels of
the course in Dental Implantology from
Medical University - Varna so far.
A new group for the course in Implantology is to be formed at the beginning of autumn.
