Prof. Dr. Ronald Bleys from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, will be a guest lecturer at Medical University – Varna, from 4 to 8 April 2016. The topic of the first eight lectures to be delivered by the Professor is: Vascular Supply of the Brain.
Prof. Bleys is a specialist in anatomy, with great experience in teaching and training medical professionals and specialists. In 1995 he successfully defended his doctoral thesis "Innervation of the Basal Brain Arteries, Roads and Density". He did a part of the research on this topic at the Department of Anatomy of the Royal Free Hospital - School of Medicine in London, UK. Since 2000 he has been the Head of the Department of Anatomy at the University of Utrecht, which is a leading centre for postgraduate training in anatomy in the Netherlands and hosts plenty of international courses. He became a Professor in clinical anatomy in 2012. He was awarded with the prize "Best Professor" at the University of Utrecht in 2013, and received an honorary doctorate degree from the State Medical University - Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2015. He has taken an active part in the innovations of the training process, and one of them is the development and implementation of virtual 3D anatomical models.
The lectures of Prof. Bleys are intended for all specialists in anatomy, and postgraduate and undergraduate students interested in this field of medicine.
