274 specialists from the Faculty of Public Health of MU-Varna received their diplomas at an official ceremony today, 19th November 2016, at Hall 1 of Festival and Congress Centre – Varna. Among the alumni was the first class in Bulgaria of the specialty "Rehabilitation, Sea Treatments, Wellness and SPA".
The alumni are from 7 specialties – Bachelor and Master Educational and Qualification Degrees – "Nursing", "Midwifery", "Health Care Management", "Health Management", "Pharmaceutical Industry", "Public Health and Health Management", "Rehabilitation, Sea Treatment, Wellness and SPA".
The first three graduates of the Russian language programme of the Faculty of Public Health also received their diplomas. The graduates are from the specialty "Public Health and Health Management" - Master Educational and Qualification Degree.
This year marks 15 years since the foundation of the Faculty of Public Health. It has the highest ranking in the country in its field. The top students of the class are Bonka Violinova Minkova, Svoboda Dimitrova Tsutsumanova and Nermin Shenolova Hasanova, and 70 graduates complete their studies with GPA exceeding Excellent 5.50.
The Rector of MU - Varna, Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov addressed the graduates saying, "I do believe that the professional and high-quality training you have acquired at our University will provide you with a rewarding job and deserved remuneration for your highly specialized work. I hope you will apply all your persistence and efforts to enhance the standards and modern requirements in the sphere of your studies and to implement the quality and professionalism in the specialties you are going to practice."
St. Marina University Hospital - Varna and Specialized Obstetric-Gynecological Hospital "Prof. Dr. Dimitar Stamatov" - Varna have provided 37 job positions for graduates from the specialties "Midwifery" and "Nursing".
Official guests at the ceremony were Mr. Nayden Kosev - Deputy Mayor for Education and Culture - Shumen, Prof. Rumen Stefanov - Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at MU - Plovdiv, Assoc. Prof. Antoaneta Tsvetkova - Chairperson of the Municipal Board of Healthcare, Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov - CEO of St. Marina University Hospital – Varna, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Vazharov - Head of MHAT - Varna at Military Medical Academy, Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Emil Kovachev - Manager of Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology "Prof. Dr. Dimitar Stamatov" - Varna and many others.
Congratulatory addresses to the graduates and the academic management were received from Mr. Stefan Radev - Mayor of the Municipality of Sliven, Mr. Yordan Yordanov - Mayor of the Municipality of Dobrich, Prof. Dr. Valentin Ignatov - CEO of St. Marina University Hospital – Varna, Dr. Galen Shivarov - CEO of MHAT "St. Anna"-Varna, Dr. Trifon Yordanov-CEO of MHAT- Dobrich, Mrs. Rayna Boyadzhieva-Chairperson of the Regional Board of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov-official representative of the management of Varna Free University.
Musical greetings to the graduates were performed by Stefan Trifonov, who performed the song "I Know" and "Vitality Acoustic Duo", who played Waltz No. 2 by Dmitri Shostakovich, and the evergreen "Singing in the Rain" by Frank Sinatra.
