In a competition of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria
"High Scientific Achievements in Dissertations" for 2015 Assist. Prof. Oskan Tasinov, PhD, from the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine and Nutrigenomics at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Medical University - Varna was awarded with a diploma of excellence. The distinction was awarded for a dissertation thesis, entitled "Study of Antioxidant, Anti-obese and Antidiabetic Effect of Extracts from the Berries of Sambucus Ebulus in Vitro and in Vivo". The scientific research was conducted at the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine and Nutrigenomics, under the supervision of Prof. Diana Ivanova, DSc, in cooperation with the high-tech Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
This award is the highest recognition both for the research carried out by Assist. Prof. Tasinov and for the scientific activities of the entire team of the Department of Biochemistry and its head Prof. Diana Ivanova.
