156 Young Doctors Graduated from Medical University-Varna

156 doctors from the Faculty of Medicine at MU-Varna received their diplomas at an official ceremony today - 03.12.2016. The event took place in Hall 1 of FCC, and the diplomas were awarded by the Rector Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov. 28 alumni complete their higher education with honours, and the top student of Class 2016 is Dr. Maria Levkova. Besides the Bulgarian graduates, the representatives of the UK, Japan, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Ukraine, Turkey, Cyprus, Serbia and Moldova, who studied in the Medical English Language Programme, received their diplomas as well.

​The Rector of MU-Varna Prof. Dr. Krasimir Ivanov congratulated the graduates, saying, "Over the past six years you have acquired knowledge and skills of professionals that you should continue to develop and improve. You have learned the lessons from your professors. But don't you ever forget about the Book of Life and the Life Lessons that we must learn every single day. Take my advice: Learn from everything and everyone. The people you meet, the situations you have to deal with - they will be your teachers from now on. Stay open-minded to the world, for only then will you be able not only to look but also to see, not only to hear but also to listen to. Learn your lessons in order to develop yourselves spiritually, intellectually and professionally and to be able after that to pass on the lessons learned to your children and the people that will learn from you."
The new graduates took the Hippocratic Oath, repeating the words after the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Radoslav Radev.

All 28 outstanding students from the Jubilee 50th Class of the Faculty of Medicine received a money prize from the University and a plaque "Outstanding Student of Class 2016".

Jobs on permanent employment contract were provided by St. Marina University Hospital, Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology "Prof. D. Stamatov" - Varna, St. Anna Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment - Varna, Specialised Eye Hospital for Active Treatment - Varna.


Two one-year scholarships for specialization at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel were provided by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Krasimir Metodiev.


Prof. Dr. Zlatislav Stoyanov from the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Prof. Dr. Anton Tonchev from the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miglena Georgieva from the Department of Pediatrics and Dr. Maria Dimova from the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases became the winners of the award "Favorite Teacher of the Graduates of Class 2016".

Prizes for active student work during the years of training and high merits in the establishment and development of the modern image of the Student Council were awarded to Anton Tsvetkov, Radostin Topchiisky, Rumyana Kirneva, Emil Dobrev and Janson Yalmaz.
Musical greeting to the graduates was performed by the musicians who have become the emblem of the authentic Bulgarian Folklore – the Folklore Band "Kaba Kabadaylii", led by Rumen Shehov, the singer Kristina Engerova, and the Folklore Ensemble of MU-Varna with an Art Director Diana Dimitrova.
 
Among the official guests at the cereminy were His Eminence Metropolitan Ioan of Varna and Veliki Preslav, representatives of universities, CEOs of Varna hospitals, representatives of regional and professional organizations and the honorable members of the Board of Trustees of MU-Varna.
Congratulatory addresses to the academic body of the University and the alumni were received from the Minister of Education and Science Ms Meglena Kuneva, the Minister of Health Dr. Petar Moskov, the Chairperson of BMA Dr. Ventsislav Grozev, the head of MHAT at MMA-Varna Col. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivailo Vazharov, the Rector of TU - Varna Prof. PhD Eng. Rosen Vasilev, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at MU - Plovdiv Prof. Dr. Nikolai Boyadzhiev and others.
